French handwritten letter by Mariano Andreu to his wife (25/5/1957)




Abstract: This is a photocopy of a handwritten letter by Mariano Andreu sent to his wife, dated 25/5/1957 (he used the Royal Opera House paper). In which he explained his tour to Oxford and Cambridge. He had visited Kensington Museum and he was amazed with English and French furniture, paintings, costumes and jewelry that he had seen there. He said to her the intention of Gielgud to make a tour of America with Much Ado about Nothing, giving some information about Le Maître de Santiago and Don Juan by Henry de Montherlant in Paris.

Resumen: Esta es una fotocopia de la carta manuscrita de Mariano Andreu dirigida a su esposa, fechada 25/5/57, con papel de la Royal Opera House de Londres. Le explica su visita a Oxford y Cambridge, destacando su visita al Museo Kensington donde había quedado maravillado por los muebles franceses e ingleses, además de las pinturas, vestidos y joyería. También sobre el propósito de Gielgud de hacer una gira por América con Much Ado about Nothing y le da información sobre las representaciones Le Maître de Santiago y Don Juan de Henry de Montherlant en París.
