Description

Abstract: This is a transcription of a report in French from Jean François Charpentier de Cossigny, Comissaire de l’Académie de les Science, to the ambassador José Nicolás de Azara, dated 29/8/1799. He gives more technical information about the letter sent to him the same date, in which he explains more about the manufacture of gunpowder for cannon, about the advantages in health using the system of cultivation of Asian rice to that used in Spain and about the manufacture of indigo without having to depend on England. All his research is based on his travels in the East Indies and Asia and he believes strongly in the benefit it will bring to the Spanish government.

Resumen: Esta es una trascripción de un informe en francés del Comissaire de l’Académie de les Science, Jean François Charpentier de Cossigny al embajador José Nicolás de Azara, fechada el 29/8/1799. En la misma incide en los beneficios que puede reportar al Estado Español la investigación que ha realizado en su viaje por las Indias Orientales Orientales y Asia, sobre la seguridad en la fabricación de pólvora para cañón, las ventajas en utilizar el sistema de cultivo de arroz asiático para la salud y como fabricar índigo sin tener que recorrer a Inglaterra.
