Description

Abstract: This is a photocopy of the French handwritten letter wrote by John Gielgud to Mariano Andreu, dated on Tuesday (1949), congratulating him on the costumes and stage designs for the play Much Ado About Nothing. Gielgud states that Shakespeare would have joined to congratulate him too. He considers that his designs reinforced by the effects of light are the delight of the public. He also talks about the difficulties in staging the play in Stratford upon Avon.

Resumen: Fotocopia de la carta manuscrita en francés por John Gielgud a Mariano Andreu, fechada en martes (1949), en la cual le felicita por el vestuario y escenografías que ha realizado para Much Ado About Nothing. Gielgud afirma que Shakespeare se habría unido a las felicitaciones también. Considera que sus diseños se ven reforzados por los efectos lumínicos conseguidos y que son la delicia del público. También comenta las dificultades de la puesta en escena en Stratford upon Avon.
