    Abstract: This is a photocopy of the list of artworks by different artists which are listed in the catalogue titled Stage Design in Great Britain since 1945. This exhibition was organized by The Arts Council in London in 1961, in which there were costumes and sceneries from the Great Britain theatres.

    Resumen: Es una fotocopia de la lista de las obras de arte de diferentes artistas relacionadas en el catálogo titulado Stage Design in Great Britain since 1945. Esta exposición fue organizada por The Arts Council en 1961 en Londres, en la que se expuso vestuario y escenografías procedentes de diversos teatros en Gran Bretaña.

  • Letter from Smith to Andreu, New York 29/9/1939

    Abstract: This is a photocophy of the letter wrote by Ismael Smith to Mariano Andreu, dated in 29/9/1939 in New York. The sculptor regretted to Andreu that during the Civil War he had lost his artworks between the years 1910 to 1914 and 1926 to 1931. He gave information about the fame of Russian and German artists and the difficulties of English and French recently. He also commented his interest in writing aesthetic thoughts about talented artists.

    Resumen: Esta es una fotocopia de la carta escrita por Ismael Smith a Mariano Andreu, fechada el 29/9/1939 en Nueva York. El escultor lamenta a Andreu que durante la Guerra Civil h­a perdido la obra que habí­a realizado entre los años 1910 y 1914 y entre 1926 y 1931. Le informa sobre el éxito que están teniendo los artistas rusos y alemanes, pero también de las dificultades de los ingleses y franceses. Le comenta su interés por escribir sus pensamientos estéticos sobre el talento de los artistas.

     


  • Letter from Cerretti to Azara, 5/5/1798

    Abstract: This is a transcription of the Official letter wrote by Luigi Cerretti, Minister of the Cisalpine Republic, before the Royal Court of Parma, to José Nicolás de Azara, dated 5/5/1798. Cerretti congratulated Azara for his work and knowledge in classical books editions collaborating with Giambattista Bodoni. Even though the changes and complicated political situation he encouraged him to continuing it.

    Resumen: Esta es una transcripción de la Carta oficial de Luigi Cerretti, Ministro de la República Cisalpine, antes Real Corte di  Parma, a José Nicolás de Azara, fechada el 5 de mayo de 1798. Felicita a Azara por su trabajo y conocimientos en editar libros de autores clásicos, asociado con Giambattista  Bodoni. También le desea poder continuar en esta labor, a pesar de los cambios y complicaciones políticas que se viven.

    Abstract:  This is a photocophy of the handwritten letter by Mariano Andreu sent to his wife, dated 22/5/1957 (he used the Royal Opera House paper). In which he explained the drawings hi had made, some difficulties with the preparation The Trojans play and the actors who were going to participate. He commended his high works for the beach scene and, finally, his political breakfast and his new Don Juan designs.

    Resumen: Esta es una fotocopia de la carta manuscrita de Mariano Andreu a su esposa, fechada 22/5/57, con papel de la Royal Opera House de Londres. Le explica algunos de los pormenores de sus diseños, algunas de las dificultades para la puesta en escena de Trojans y los actores que participarán. Resalta el gran caballo que ha preparado para la escenografía de la playa y finalmente comenta su desayuno con políticos y su trabajo para el próximo Don Juan.

    Abstract: This is a transcription of the letter wrote by Ismael Smith to Manuel Rocamora, dated 16/11, in which talked about Picasso’ fame and other artists in New York as Sert, Miró and Dalí. He also mentioned the next exhibition of Mariano Andreu. He added the information that even though his brother had died the business in the textile factory was going on well and he had to dedicate time in it.

    Resumen: Esta es una transcripción de la carta de Ismael Smith dirigida a Manuel Rocamora fechada el 16/11, en la que le informa sobre el éxito de Picasso y otros artistas en Nova York como Sert, Miró y Dalí. También menciona la próxima exhibición de Mariano Andreu y de su dedicación en el funcionamiento de la industria textil de la familia tras la muerte de su hermano.
